THE MEET WILL START PROMPTLY AT 4:30 P.M. AND LAST UNTIL ABOUT 8:00 P.M.

7th and 8th Grade Boys Basketball A Teams take 2nd place at Tournament

The 7th Grade Boys Basketball A Team took 2nd place at the RRISD Basketball Tournament this past weekend. The Rangers fell 52-58 to Ridgeview in the finals after defeating Hopewell 48-41 earlier in the day. The Rangers are now 12-3 on the season and finish their District Championship tonight vs Walsh at Deerpark.

The 8th Grade Boys Basketball A Team also took 2nd place at the RRISD Basketball Tournament this past weekend. The Rangers fell 32-52 to Walsh in the finals after defeating Cedar Valley 45-42 earlier in the day. The Rangers are now 13-2 on the season and play tonight vs Walsh at Walsh for the District Championship.

We are proud of these 2 teams!!!!!!

Track tryouts are coming up. Please take a moment to review try out dates/times, the meet schedule and practice schedules. ALL STUDENT-ATHLETES WHO WISH TO TRY OUT SHOULD HAVE A PHYSICAL ON FILE.

Boys track tryouts for all events will be held before school starting at 7:00 AM Wednesday, February the 15th and Thursday, February the 16th except shot put, discus and high jump will be after school at 3:40 PM on these days.

Girls track tryouts for all events will be held before school starting at 7:00 AM Friday, February the 17th and Monday, February the 20th except shot put, discus and high jump will be after school at 3:40 PM on these days.

Please review both the practice schedule to ensure you make practice times and the meet schedule to make yourself available. Thank you!

7th Grade Boys Basketball A Team District Champions!!!!!

The 7th Grade Boys Basketball A Team secured a District Championship with a 56-17 victory over CD Fulkes last night. The Team is currently 10-2 Overall and 7-1 in District. The kids and their parents put in a lot of hard work over the past 4 months, made a lot of sacrifices, set their goals high, and found a way to achieve those goals. We are proud of their success and what it means to the school and the community!!

Middle School Basketball Night

The McNeil Mavericks will host Middle School Basketball Night Tuesday February 14th vs the Leander Lions. The game starts at 7:30 p.m. in the McNeil Gymnasium. All Deerpark basketball players should attend if possible and watch the Mavericks as they continue to be one of the most dominate teams in the state of Texas. They are currently 29-2 and on their way to a district title!!!

At the conclusion of our 7 on 7 season we have our season champion the Water Zebras. Their captain Steven Munoz was awarded the Finals MVP. Hudson Holmes was awarded the season MVP! All of our 7^th grade athletes improved tremendously and built skills for next year. Thank you to all teams involved and we hope you had fun!

To all student – athletes and parents:

We have some crucial information concerning athletics!

Student – athletes who will be entering the 9th grade next year are encouraged to attend the RRISD physical night at Round Rock HS in building 100 on Tuesday, May 17th from 7:00 PM – 8:45 PM. The cost is 20$ and this physical will ensure that your student – athlete is covered for all UIL sports during the 2011 – 2012 school year! This is good for all incoming 9th graders. Remember a physical is a must have to even try out for an athletic team and this is an excellent opportunity to get it out of the way for a low price.

Secondly, McNeil HS is hosting a “Speed Camp” this summer. All incoming 7th, 8th and 9th grade athletes are encouraged to go. Speed camp is a great opportunity for any student – athlete to improve their fundamental athleticism as well as get to know the High School coaches. Please view, complete, and return the flyer below if you are interested. If you are unable to afford this beneficial program you may submit a fee waiver found in the link below with a completed camp application.

7th and 8th Grade Boys A Basketball Teams Finish as Runner Up at RRISD Tournament

The 8th Grade Boys A Basketball Team lost the Championship Game to Hopewell 55-42 after defeating Canyon Vista 52-36 earlier in the day to advance to the finals. The A Team is 10-4 on the season and the future looks bright for these young men at McNeil in 2011-2012!!

The 7th Grade Boys A Basketball Team lost the Championship Game 84-43 to Walsh after defeating Cedar Valley 42-40 earlier in the day to advance to the finals. The A Team is 10-4 on the season and these guys will be competing fearlessly next year as 8th Graders. We are proud of them!!

GIRLS BASKETBALL DISTRICT CHAMPS!!!

The 8th Grade A Lady Rangers Basketball Team finished 13-1 and are Back-To-Back District Champions for 2011!!! These girls finshed the last 2 years with a combined 24-1 record and are definitely a force to be reckoned with next year at McNeil. We wish them the best of luck as they have been a pleasure to watch these last 2 years!!

Our 7th grade boys "B" basketball team fought hard over the past week and ended up winning the consolation championship in a tough battle with the Hopewell Hornets. This team improved exponentially, defeating a team they had a previous loss to. Great job Rangers!

8TH GRADE GIRLS A TEAM BASKETBALL FINISHES 3RD IN RRISD TOURNAMENT

The 8th Grade Girls Basketball Team finished in 3rd place at the RRISD Tournament this past weekend with a 36-22 win over Canyon Vista. The team recovered from a 36-34 loss to Hopewell after defeating Cedar Valley 37-17 in the first round. The A Team is currently 6-1 overall and 4-0 in district. Congratulations to the Lady Rangers!!!!!!

DEERPARK BRINGS HOME 3 TOPHIES IN WEEKEND BASKETBALL TOURNAMENTS

The Deerpark Basketball program brought home 3 trophies this past weekend in tournament play. The Girls Runnin' Rangers B Teams were in the RRISD tournament and the Boys Runnin' Rangers A Teams were in the Pflugerville tournament.

The Girls 7th Grade Runnin' Rangers B Team finished with the 3rd place trophy in the RRISD Tournament after defeating Hopewell and Chisholm Trail. The team is now 4-2 on the season.

The Boys 8th Grade Runnin' Rangers A Team finished as the Consolation Champions after defeating Elgin and Westview. The team is now 4-2 on the season.

The 8th Grade Boys A Team won the consolation championship this past saturday at the RRISD tournament with a thrilling 44-42 victory over Chisolm Trail. The Rangers also defeated CD Fulkes 39-30 earlier in the day and have improved their record to 5-6 on the season. The Rangers will play their final game this Wednesday at Hopewell. Congratulations to Coach League and the players!!!!!

The 7th Grade Boys A Team won 3rd place at the RRISD Tournament with a 60-35 defeat of Canyon Vista on Saturday. The Rangers came back after a heartbreaking 40-37 loss earlier to Cedar Valley. The Rangers are now 10-1 on the year and will be playing this Wednesday at home vs Hopewell for the district championship. Congratulations to Coach Vasquez, Coach Azios, and the players!!!

The 8th Grade Boys B Team won the Consolation Championship Saturday defeating Walsh 43-17. The Rangers also defeated CD Fulkes earlier 33-24 en route to the title. The Rangers are now 7-2 on the season and if they can win their last 2 games vs Canyon Vista and Hopewell they can claim the District Championship for the 2nd time in 3 years. Congratulations to Coach Moorhead and all of the boys for a great season so far!!!!!!

With a thrilling 26-22 victory over the Hopewell Hornets last night, the Girls 7th Grade A Team has clinched a Basketball District Championship!!!!!! The team is 10-0 and will be looking to complete an undefeated season next Thursday vs Walsh @ Walsh.
